Trick or Treat!

So a couple of cute boys (and their parents) dropped by this afternoon for some 'treats' ... I wouldn't DARE play any tricks on these boys (maybe their mother - but not them!) ... Joshua & Caleb it sure was a TREAT to have you drop by today!

Run to win

I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.
Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.
1 Corinthians 9:23-25 (New Living Translation)
I may not always do everything to spread the Good News, or at least I may not always be intentional about it ... during a bible study last night this verse popped out at me as we were having a discussion ... it's a tough one for me ... I often get caught up in living what one might call 'my life' ... but really ... I'd like 'living my life' to be just exactly what this passage highlights ... after all - the kingdom is what our daily living should be about ... I'm off and running! ... will you join me?

Farewell Sunday

So today was - shall we say my 'farewell' Sunday at Glenmore Temple here we see the kids learning about "God's Love" and Fred informing everyone that I'd be waiting at the door for ... you guessed it! ... HUGS.

Banff & a PAWty

I had the privilege of going to Banff today. It was nice to be there - and as always - pictures will never do that place justice! God is Awesome and so are his mountains!

... followed by a day in Banff a very good friend of mine felt it was necessary to throw a PAWty in my honor. It was nice to be with friends this evening. Susan, thank you for sharing your life with me ... thank you for your friendship

Last Full Friday

Well folks, this is my last FULL Friday here in Cowtown. Yup, time is getting closer - and my stomache seems to be filling with bigger knots! Yuck! My plan is to make the best of this next week though - what that really means for me right now - I don't have all the details figured out yet. I'll write more later - as a part of my plans for today will involve eating with friends - so I must go get a start on that! Will be back later .... with more info ... I must say I'm currently at a state where I feel as though I have lots to say but can't seem to find the right words - but then again that's pretty normal for me.

... for a Special Boy!

A little something for a special boy ... sorry Joshua it took so long!

Kitchener

Some people have been asking q's about what area of Kitchener we'll be living ... I still don't know the 'neighborhood' names and stuff there yet - but maybe this map will help those curious minds out there.

Balloon Template

Bummer - I've written this post once already! I can see - too many more times of this happening and I won't be a very faithful blogger!
Anyways ... here's a template that I've worked on today - I'll give you some background to the significance of it - in the end you might not think it to be too significant - oh well!
So - the balloon ... it's a S.N.A.P.S.H.O.T. of one of the three balloons that were in the sky on the morning I had my very first balloon ride ever. A balloon ride was something that I had 'dreamed' about for quite some time and my ever clever husband (Scott) saw to it that I could see this dream fulfilled on my birthday! Well, being that my birthday is in December I didn't opt for the ride right away - I was keenly interested - but not that keenly interested! I took Carole with me on the ride - I think we both enjoyed our morning (I mean early morning). Since Carole & I had various discussions on balloon-rides and the sorts in the past I decided to give the second half of my balloon-ride excursion to Carole for her birthday this year. So it allowed us a neat opportunity - not only did we have a balloon ride together - it meant that - even though our birthdays are more than five months (and many years - sorry Carole!) apart - we had the privilege of celebrating together this time.
Another part of this template is another S.N.A.P.S.H.O.T. that I took on our balloon ride ... the Calgary skyline (if you haven't figured it out - it's in the bottom right corner of the page).
About the clouds - they're a combo of a portion of a S.N.A.P.S.H.O.T. on that day and some play-time in PhotoShop. I've built the template in such a way - that - depending on your screen resolution and whether or not you have your browser's window maximized the two clouds on the right (not behind the balloon) will 'move'.
So, that's the template for today - I'm not sure how long it'll exist on this 'blog' ... we'll see ... depends on if I get bored of this one or if I even get inspired for something 'greater' or not.
Think that about sums it up for now.

ps. I think my original post of this made more sense!

Welcome!

Not sure where this 'blog' will take me ... never actually thought I'd fall into the world of bloggers myself ... but I figure ... I may as well give it a shot ... and since I'm unemployed this just might be a good time get on a roll with this thing ... who knows if I'll still keep at it once the novelty has worn off ... anways, with the title you might have figured out by now that I plan on sharing brief moments of my life with you (as most people who know me - getting much more than that from me would be next to impossible) - I plan on doing this by using a combination of both the written form and photos themselves.
