So, a wee visit to the 'home' of my broken wrist.
It was a lovely day for a stroll with the swans.

tsomaga
I sat & enjoyed the 'final program' of the tsomaga (however they 'say' that I have no clue) tonight. It was good ... God was good (but there's no surprise there). My desire is to take the Moments He gives us and to never take them for granted ... we are blessed!

5 and counting
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear Joshua!
Happy Birthday to you!
Hope you have a great day Joshua. The five years seem to have flown by. They've been a good five years. It's been great getting to know you. I'm so happy that we're friends. Thank you for showing me Jesus through the fine young boy you're becoming. You have taught me many things, and I'm looking forward to learning more from you. See you soon!

life of the party
Happy Birthday to the lady who's typically the 'life of the party'.
I wont tell the world how OLD you really are ...
But if I'm over 30 and you gave birth to me while you were in your 20s ... Okay I'll stop there ...
Hope you have a great day today Ma!
Let's all sing ...
Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear Mudder!
Happy Birthday to you!

long awaited
Scott had been waiting for the highly-rated homemade burgers - so tonight was the night! And me, well, I'm always waiting for FALL ... and it looks like that's just around the corner too!

'son'day
So we had a nice bbq lunch with extended family today. And I then made a little trip to the 'covered bridge' as a little get-a-way shin-dig for the afternoon. It's always nice to 'get-a-way' and allow God to speak in the silence - or should I say it's always good to 'get-a-way' and listen. Good day all around!

take me 'out' to the ball game!
Just a little continuation of Scott's Birthday celebrations. We thought we'd take in a 'game' at the Rogers' Centre with some friends of ours. It was a great evening. A good time had by all - from what I could tell ... with the exception of a ball in the back of my friend (which we didn't even get to keep as a souvenir).

out with the old
... in with the new!
So we'd like to announce a new arrival of a family member. This 'baby' will mainly take care of getting Scott back & forth to the airport ... hope they get along well!
nothing separates us
I'm not really sure that I have the most appropriate words for today. But I knew there was something that I needed to share here. It's been a quarter of a century (that's 25 years) since our family has had to 'deal' with one of the tougher times together. Since 'that day' we've all had different moments when we've questioned God. We've had different lessons taught to us as a result of the experiences we've gone through. For those of you who don't know the 'history' of my family. Twenty-five years ago, my younger sister (who was 14 months old at the time) passed away pretty suddenly. If you're interested in more of the story - feel free to ask - as a family, we're pretty open to sharing our story with anyone who's interested.
One of the most common questions I've wrestled with throughout the years has been the 'simple' question of "Why?" There's been numerous times that I've been given different answers to that question. It's all been a matter of where I've been and the time I've been there. God has placed me (us) in places that I would never have expected to be placed, but somehow our 'story' has proven to be the one that was needed to be shared and heard in those moments.
Without a doubt, I've been able to say that God has brought me through a few tough times - here and there. Really, what more can I ask for? "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31b).
Don't get me wrong folks. I'm not saying that all is 'fine and dandy' all the time. No, I don't have 'answers' for all of the questions (and even doubts) that my heart has held. But, knowing THE answer that can get us through all that life has to offer us is pretty comforting.
Are you needing 'comfort'? I've got some GOOD NEWS for you. There's nothing, absolutely nothing, that can separate us from God's love.
"And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory. What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?" Romans 8:30-32 (NLT)

out with the baby
I figured that would get your attention. I'm talking about the lensbaby that I got for my birthday. I'm a bit slow, I haven't really taken the time to figure out how exactly this lens works. So, today, since I had quite a bit of time to myself I packed up the camera bag and went on the hunt for some of God's handiwork to capture and see what I could come up with. I thought I'd try and be bit creative while out and about too. There's so much more I can do with the lensbaby - but it will take some getting used to and a bit more experimenting. For now, I'll say that I had a successful day when it comes to capturing God's great creation!

celebration time
For this particular birthday, we were both in the same country and same province!
So, we decided to celebrate Scott's birthday with some friends.
Despite having to find a back-up restaurant ...
the evening turned out to be quite successful.
A good time was had by me - and hopefully everybody else!
