Sun and Rain

so these first two pictures are some of the last pictures we took on our outting in St Maarten ... we were all done our tour - and pretty much finished with our shopping - walking back towards 'the ship' - when the sky opened up shall we say ... yup - we got drenched - but after a 6+ hour of touring the island in a open-top 4x4, the warm rain was a welcomed cool down I'd say. Scott & I are a little more drenched than ma & pa - 'cause they had their picture taken first!

Today's tour consisted of Scott & I driving a Jeep 4x4 around the Island (don't worry - there was a group of us - with a 'local' leading us). We had a few stops along the way ... taking a peek at the landscape, shopping, walking along a beach, and vegging on other beach (and getting caught up in the waves). There was a lot of sun beaming down on us - and a few of us had some red skin to show for it at the end of the day!

Injured

So, last week we were in San Juan ... venturing on some ATVs ... well ... as the pic might show (below) - pa was riding with ma - well - that wasn't the case - perhaps it should've been ... 'cause at the very end - a little long to explain right now - but there was a little accident - which resulted in pa spraining his fingers or something - yup - that's right - first excursion of the cruise and we have an injury! Not to worry - we've now made it all back - safe and sound with quite the story to tell - well, Scott's the only one that can really tell it 'cause he actually saw it take place - apparently pa couldn't see (and that's where the problem started) - ma & I were in two other groups so we weren't even near the accident scene.

We left San Juan in the evening - with a downpour of rain before we actually departed. Docked along side us were three other ships ...

Our waiters for the week were "Rocky" (right) and Freddy (left) ... very nice gentlemen ... if we opted out of dinner one evening - and returned the next they were sure to tell us how much they missed us the night before ... here they are singing an Italian song to us (along with all the other waiters) on Italian night ...

On The Ship

So a week ago today we found ourselves on 'the ship' ... getting ready for a weeks worth of site-seeing ... eating ... and well - even some exercise!
I won't get all 1000+ pictures up here on the blog - but I'll be sure to set something up - and when I do I'll inform you of the link. For now I'll just leave a few pics here to 'wet your appetite'

Nassau

so we'll have a short stop a week from today in Nassua, Bahamas ... the excursion that we plan to take part in will involve a 'break' ... hmm ... should be nice after a week of cruising - don't you think?
Well folks, we're actually heading into Toronto tonight - as we're due to be AT the airport for 4 am tomorrow - that's a tad bit early - so our plan is to crash at a hotel near by - get a few winks .. and by few - I mean - not many ...
This is it - we're leaving for the cruise tomorrow - and we'll be back a week from tomorrow.

Charlotte Amalie

So, you itchin' to find out what we'll be up to next ... well, we'll be in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas ... hmm ... let's just say we'll be hangin' out with the BOSS ... yup ... that's what we'll be doin' ... this adventure should last about 3 1/2 hours
A side note - I finished "the world's longest sudoku puzzle" yesterday. I got it for Christmas, so it's taken a while - but I didn't give up! It was over 21 feet long and had 167 puzzles that were linked together at the 3x3 corners. Apparently I had 8,929 empty squares to fill in - and I did. Boring news I know - but for some of you who have seen it you'll know a bit more of what I'm talking about.

Philipsburg

So - just to keep you up-to-date ... a week from today we'll be in Philipsburg, St. Marteen ... and there won't be any need to shovel snow - I can almost guarantee that! In case you haven't caught on, we got dumped with a whack load of snow last night ... so much snow that we had a snow plow visit our street - fancy! I'd say. So, you wanna know what we'll be doin' in St. Marteen ... well it involves a '4' - that's all I'll give you for now ...

San Juan

A week from today we'll be spending time in San Juan, Puerto Rico ... doing ... ahhhhh ... you thought I was going to slip! No, not I. I'll fill you in with the details perhaps TWO weeks from today ... and just so you know it is 28 degrees Celsius right now in San Juan ...
Caleb, I sure hope you start to feel better soon - and start enjoying your sleep more (you don't know what you're missing buddy!) ...

Countdown

I'm pretty sure Scott would like you all to know that one week today - we'll be on a cruise ... and actually one week from this very moment - we'll have left the dock ... it will be warmer than it is here - so that will be good! We've got our excursions and stuff already booked - but rather than ruin the surprise I'll fill you in when I get back with the 'exciting' pics!

IKEA

So - 2 Saturday's in a row - I managed to sneak in a trip to IKEA ... yes I say a TRIP ... that's right folks - I don't have the privilege of having one in town ... so yeah ... today was a specialized trip to get a 'sideboard' for the dining room to go with our dining room table - I was starting to become a little fearful that it was soon 'going out' ... it's no longer on their website - that raised a few flags for me - so rather than take the catch any longer - I decided to bite the bullet and 'go for it' ... we got home and put it together this evening ... I shall clean it up a bit tomorrow and put it in its place - and then have the joy of filling it up :-) ... when I get around to taking a picture I'll post it ... but for now I'll leave you to your imagination!
