feed me

So - some Cowtown folk zoomed by for a visit - and since I was having a hard time entertaining them, we went to Marble Slab ... only to find out I couldn't hold the bowl AND feed myself at the same time. Rather than see me starve (ha!) and rather than FEED ME - Karen decided to be 'kind and helpful' by holding my bowl. Aaahhhh ... the love ... it feels as cold as ice-cream sometimes!

surprises on the way

Another trip to the airport tonight to pick up Aunt Ine - the crew in London have no clue that she's on the way there tomorrow for 10 days or so! I'm thinkin' they'll forgive us sooner or later ...

Could I laugh any harder? It must be the family!!

little things

Another trip to Stratford - to pick up the first set of x-rays so I can bring them to Grand River Hospital tomorrow. A trip back to St. Jacob's so we could have a bite to eat and pick up a few souvenirs. And a trip to the airport so I could send my 'bad luck charms' back home!

botanic gardens

Another hot day ... so let's park under a tree for shade ... and hope that it doesn't fall on the car. Well, I guess I should never get my hopes up too much ... 'cause that's exactly what happened ... I think my 'guests' should go home soon - things aren't looking promising any more!

niagara - a day in the sun

We chose a good day to get wet and enjoy the sun all at the same time. God is good!

beautiful butterflies

Today was a day for a return trip to Stratford - to get the 'famous' wrist checked out ... things are looking good - another check up scheduled for next week.

To fill the rest of the day we went and checked out some butterflies at Wings of Paradise. (note: my pics are now being taken with ONE hand ... definitely something I'm trying to get used to - that camera gets heavy!)

hangin' with some animals

I'm not just talking about ma, Carole & Darlene ... I'm talking about the many creatures at The African Lion Safari. A good day ...

sacrifices

So what I thought was going to be a lovely afternoon in Stratford with friends (I've just recently started a ~10 day 'road trip' vacation) ... turned into something a little different than what I had planned.
Our first stop was at a lovely park - where I set my eyes on a man-made waterfall. Things were looking good ... I was checking out various angles for that 'perfect shot' ...

I made a 'shot' alright - a 'shot' into the water - which meant I landed on my wrist in a way in which it is not meant to be landed on. Apparently I actually smushed a few bones together ... guess it's not the best way to reduce my body mass ... if you're now wondering about my camera - I had thought a little ahead and had Carole hold it while I got 'into place'.

I might've been in a litle pain - but I was willing to make this 'vacation' of mine - into a party where possible. Apparently - I was a 'dream patient'. Can't say I was having so much fun I was dreaming!

Fingers were still working - so all was good.

Thumbs up! 3 hours later - and I was able to leave the 'party place' ... aka 'hospital' for all you 'normal' people. I have to head back on Tuesday for a check-up ... and hopefully 'things' will look good ... and a 'permanent' cast will be put on my wrist.
Say a few prayers if you wouldn't mind ... to be honest - getting the boneS set back in place seemed to be a more difficult task than expected ... I could've ended up in the hospital for more than 3 hours ...
Here's to a better visit to Stratford on Tuesday ... wonder if I should pay a little visit to 'the falls'.
